Buying a new car requires a lot of research and time before settling on a car, and even more days spent at different dealerships just to find the right price. However, there are a few things you can do to help you save time and money when getting a new car.
- Decide what car you want to buy.
- Get the price on the road (on the road price) of the vehicle. Remember, solid and metallic prices have different prices. Refer to the official website of the vehicle manufacturer to check the price for the road.
- Check discount / rebate of the vehicle you want to buy (if available). It is advisable to check on the official website of the car manufacturer.
- Ask the salesperson to calculate your car monthly. For your information, the monthly calculation are just the salesperson estimates. There is no salesperson who can give the exact monthly amount to the customer because the monthly amount depends on the amount of the loan, the loan year and the interest rate set by the bank.
- Once you are satisfied with the above information, you can create a document to make a loan, refer here.
- Once the document has been submitted to the salesperson, the salesperson will apply for a loan at the bank on your behalf.
- 1-2 weeks after that the decision by the bank will be issued. Whether pass or failed, or with conditional approval. If passed, check the loan amount approved. Road price – loan amount = amount of advance payment to be issued. Example RM44,000 – RM40,000 (loan amount) = RM4,000 down payment.
- Once you are satisfied with the approval, then you can set the time to sign a loan agreement. Ask the salesperson to arrange your appointment with the bank.
- Once the agreement is signed, then you can wait for the salesperson to get no chasis for you. The waiting period depends on the stock of the vehicle. Once you receive no chassis, you can make a prepayment payment if any. Do not make payments as long as you do not receive no chasis. Ask your sms or text salesperson no chasis as proof.
- Once payment is made, you can then wait for your car to be registered in JPJ. After registration, 1-2 weeks is required to recieve the grants and road tax from jpj.
- Once the salesperson contacts you that the road grants and taxes are accepted, you can determine the time and location to take the car.
- Check your car while taking the car. Once you are satisfied with the condition of your car, claim the promised reward. Then sign the car submission form and take your new car home.
